The multi award winning Brush ‘N’ Blush hair and beauty group is owned by mother and daughter Frances and Maureen Mccarthy.

At Brush n Blush we are passionate about education and are constantly upskilling to keep up with current techniques and trends. We offer a range of services specialising in bridal hair (which we also provide a mobile service for), colour and restyles with advice from in house colour experts, red carpet ready updos, hair extensions complimented with make up and an award winning nail bar.

The goal at Brush n Blush is to keep a family business feel and provide a positive comfortable space for our clients and staff while keeping a professional high standard and delivering beautiful healthy hair.

Brush n Blush has appeared in fashion events , Tv, radio and featured in many magazines such as RSVP, VIP, Brides of Munster, Brides of Kerry, Hi Style, Connect Kerry and The Irish wedding diaries and have won many local and national accolades.

Here at Brush n Blush we use premium brands only such as Wella, System Professional, Nioxin, Milk_Shake, GHD & HH Simonsen.

We are delighted to recently have welcomed our new education hub with the highest of certificates. Brush n Blush is a member of the Association of British International Hair Colleges and now have a list of courses available.

Frances Mc Carthy

Frances began her hairdressing career in "JR's" hair salon in Limerick city. She then went on to complete her training with Joe Moynihan the head stylist at "Cut N Curl" and shortly after opened her first salon . Over the years she has trained many successful hairdressers who now have their own successful careers and salons. Frances has continually upskilled in all aspects of hairdressing and has always had a huge passion for cutting. In 2014 she opened "Brush N Blush" in Tralee Co. Kerry with her daughter Maureen as her partner who also shares her mothers passion for the art of hairdressing. They have since gone on to win numerous awards for the salon and she personally has won Overall Hair Individual of the Year 2017 and the Connect Kerry Lifetime Achievement award 2020 . Frances strives to give a quality, professional and friendly service every time. Continuous education is of high priority within Brush N Blush and all staff attend training seminars throughout each year to familiarize themselves with the latest trends and techniques within the industry. Frances has received a fellowship from the British Association and Master Craftsman Diploma from the British Hairdressing Council and has recently launched the Brush n Blush Education Hub. Her aim is to pass on her knowledge of hairdressing and business experience to up and coming stylists for the future of the hair industry

Maureen Mc Carthy

Maureen started her career working weekends for her mom when she was just 15 years old. She then began training with the Irish College of Hairdressing and graduated at the age of 18. Since then she has specialised in bridal hair and colour graduating from Wellas Master Colour Programme as a Colour Expert. Maureen has been involved in fashion events featured in many magazines with accolades such as Munsters most Inspiring Business Woman 2019, Young Business woman of the year 2018, Best Colourist 2019, Newcomer of the year 2018 and Wedding and Occasion upstyle specialist 2018. Maureen is currently one of the Irish educators for the reputable hair care brand Milk_shake and is one of the course leaders at the Brush n Blush education hub.

Maureen has always been very passionate about hairdressing and continues to upskill and educate herself for the benefit of her clients, team, students and the Brush N Blush brand.
